Artist Statement

My art is a metamorphosis of color and shape. I am inspired by small visual vignettes that my mind's eye sees in all things. A lens in my imagination goes click, and I have snapped a memorable scene to use as a jumping-off point in my studio. When brush touches paint and paint touches paper, the transition begins. Through my palette of color, brighter than nature, the images that I create on a surface transform into a unique composition of shapes, color, and values.
